Hartverscheurend

 (Love Hurts)
Feature film about dynamic thirty-somethings and social idealism versus practical ambition and the establishment. One of the last urban nomads from the alternative scene and a successful lawyer love each other dearly, but are unable to maintain their relationship. Against the backdrop of the derelict old dock area in Amsterdam on the banks of the IJ river, topical matters of the 1990s are addressed: yuppies, squats, urban renewal, Aids, illegal refugees. Won the Film Critics' Award at the Dutch Film Days.
