Television film about people standing at an emotional turning point in life. The film tells a number of independent stories, based on large and small newspaper reports. The different storylines come together near a park in an old working class area. The characters have diverse problems. One becomes unemployed are years at work, another is in debt and thrown out of his flat and another suddenly sees her husband leave without a word. All events that pose the question: how to carry on? They all have in common that they tackle their problems with heart and soul and fight doggedly to make something of their new life.
