Frans en Duits

Light-hearted television drama about a love affair between two men, both teachers. It is 1966. A young music teacher goes to teach at the local secondary on a small island in the Wadden Sea. He falls in love with the teacher Duits, who answers his feelings and unusual intimacy ensues. Duits thinks their relationship can still blossom when he becomes headmaster and marries the gym teacher. However the music teacher refuses to conform to his friend's weak attitude. During the festivities to mark the fairytale wedding between Queen Beatrix and Prince Claus, he realises their love is doomed and he leaves the island. However when he returns to the Wadden island thirty years later, their love has not yet cooled.
