De Poolse bruid

 (The Polish Bride)
Psychological drama about a farmer in rural Groningen and the Polish woman Anna, who has been brought to Holland by two men to work as a prostitute. The terrified woman manages to escape and is found by the farmer on his land. He takes her in. Slowly the two grow closer together and they start to love each other. De Poolse bruid (The Polish Bride) was part of the Route 2000 project, four films focusing on the new millennium. The film was awarded many prizes home and abroad, including Golden Calves for Best Direction and Best Actress (Monic Hendrickx).
