De dans van de reiger (The Dance of the Heron)
Feature film, based on Hugo Claus's play from 1962, who was also responsible for the scenario. A crisis in Elena and Edward's marriage reaches its peak during a holiday in Yugoslavia. When Elena has an affair with a Dutch tourist, Edward wants to hurt his unfaithful wife as much as he can and stages a suicide attempt. The Dance of the Heron was shot on location in Yugoslavia with an international cast. The photography was done by Sacha Vierny, who also shot the French film Belle de Jour and dozens of other great films.
