Amsterdam Afterbeat

Johan van der Keuken edited the remaining footage of his Amsterdam epic Amsterdam, Global Village into this short film. The claps made by sound-woman Noshka van der Lely on the microphone after a take, used later in the cutting to synchronise sound and vision, form a returning pattern. This has turned Amsterdam Afterbeat into a rhythmic cinematographic reconnaissance.
